Girls who hike sc ambassadors are the backbone of our nonprofit. each ambassador leads a monthly group event for our growing community. ambassadors also help moderate our social media platforms and teach members about safety and leave no trace principles on the trails. we have ambassadors in the upstate, midlands, and lowcountry of sc.

It all began at a Girls Who Hike Happy Hour meetup in 2018. At the time, GWH was a national organization with many chapters across the US. After meeting at the Happy Hour event and spending much of 2018 hiking together, Emily and Micalyn decided to apply for the 2019 ambassador program to help lead group hikes with GWH. In late 2019, however, it was announced that the national organization was dissolving and the chapters were going to close. Determined to continue growing the SC chapter, Emily and Micalyn took on the responsibility of growing and maintaining the group. Since that time, the community has more than quadrupled in size and continues to be an excellent resource for women looking to connect, network, and discover together through our SC trails. We are so thrilled to be a part of such a growing community and can’t wait to see what the future holds for Girls Who Hike SC! Hike on!
